Montserrat

Montserrat

Montserrat Mountain is one of the best nature day trips from Barcelona, and it’s easily accessible by train. You can hike up the Montserrat mountain if you’re feeling adventurous, or you can ride up via cable car. Either way, the view is unbelievable!

You can also explore the monastery, which houses stunning art collections from the ancient world and the Middle East.

While many visit the mountain for hiking purposes, it is also a religious sanctuary for others. Montserrat is home to the Virgin of Montserrat (the Black Madonna) and is considered a sacred place.
