1. Black Girls Travel Too
Founder Danny Rivers Mitchell was all too familiar with the debilitating stigmas women of color face regarding traveling. So she decided to do something about it. Black Girls Travel Too started with just an Instagram page in 2015 that has allowed many black women an opportunity to have a seat at the ‘traveling’ table.
Black Girls Travel Too offers trips for women of color to experience the world together in many areas ranging from Thailand to South Africa. The company also provides opportunities for voluntourism – a form of tourism in which travelers participate in voluntary work, typically for a charity.
I love to see it! A traveling company that creates unique moments for women of color while traveling, but one that also gives back to the global community! Sign me up.
2. Nomandness Travel Tribe
Nomandness Travel Tribe is well-known for representing black and brown travelers’ voices and industry impact. The company’s mission is to show the world that traveling has no racial, religious, or gender boundaries. By booking a trip with this travel group, women of color are sure to feel welcomed and appreciated while enjoying the company of others while exploring the world.
Due to the pandemic, trips have been put on hold in the last couple of years, but they are now adding trips to their calendar. However, a couple of things to note:
- trips have a maximum of 12 people per trip, and
- all attendees must be fully Covid-19 vaccinated at least 60 days before the trip departs.
Urban Events Global, formed in 2011, creates spaces for black professionals to network and adventure the world together. This company loves having a good time and giving back to the community. And they offer big trips to areas like Dubai and South Africa and a yearly camping trip in Texas! Joining this big family at Urban Events Global is an excellent way to meet like-minded individuals that love traveling just as much as you do.
